Government continually experiences intense and prolonged
pressures to offer new and better services; respond rapidly to changing
economic and political conditions and legislative initiatives; and
accomplish operations more efficiently and effectively. The public
has increased its expectations of performance and demanded greater
accountability for results. The requirements to accommodate change
quickly, do more with less, and satisfy citizen desires have become
common success factors in the governmental arena. In order to fulfill
these requirements, a framework for the development, implementation,
and integration of business systems must be in place. The North Canada
Statewide Technical Architecture defines this framework.
